Violet Crown Chess is proud to offer the Botvinnik-Flohr I (BFI) Soviet Reproduction Chess Pieces. This is full club-size chess set featuring a 3.6" King height with a 1.6" diameter base. This set comes complete with 32 pieces. The chess pieces are hand-carved by our master artisans from the highest quality wood. These pieces are nicely weighted with a polished ebonized finish.
This is an early Soviet design that closely resembles traditional Staunton design. The set is named after the 1933 match between Mikhail Botvinnik and Salo Flohr which took place in Leningrad and Moscow. The set is compact, balanced, and extremely playable.
