Beautiful working condition original Thiel Chess Clock. This German made watch features guillotine stye flags in a dovetailed wooded enclosure. Standing just 4" tall and 7" wide, its compact form is unique for its age in era of large tower clocks.
The Thiel Company originally founded in 1862 manufactured chess clocks from 1951-1954 after being expropriated by the USSR post WWII. This clock was a precursor to the Ruhla Garde which dominated chess in the 70's and 80's.
